Our research question focused on whether the percentage of time spent experiencing hypoglycemia during closed-loop insulin delivery varies across different age groups and at distinct times of the day. Our retrospective analysis encompassed data from hybrid closed-loop studies, including young children (2-7 years), children and adolescents (8-18 years), adults (19-59 years), and older adults (60 years and older) with type 1 diabetes. The primary outcome was the duration of time spent experiencing hypoglycemia, defined as blood glucose levels below 39 mmol/L (or less than 70 mg/dL). To determine the typical intraoperative 3D-RV FWS values in patients slated for coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery, we compared these to conventional echocardiographic parameters. Observational study, performed prospectively.
Isolated on-pump CABG surgery was performed on 150 patients, all exhibiting preserved left and right ventricular function, sinus rhythm, and free of significant heart valve disease or pulmonary hypertension, with a smooth intraoperative course and no complications. In anesthetized and ventilated patients, intraoperative assessment of right ventricular function involved the utilization of transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) for both conventional echocardiographic evaluation and 3D-RV FWS analysis. Software for assessing 3D-RV FWS and three-dimensional right ventricular ejection fraction (3D-RV EF) is provided by TomTec 4D RV-Function 20. Data on tricuspid annulus tissue velocity (RV S), tricuspid annular systolic excursion (TAPSE), and RV fractional area change (FAC) were derived from the Philips QLAB 108.
